Easter Treat Bags (No Die Needed)

Easter Bunny Treat Bags
These little treat bags are easy to make. You start with a piece of patterned paper or cardstock cut to 6-1/2 x 10-1/2 inches and you end up with a cute little treat bag that measures 3-1/2 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 1-1/2 inches deep, large enough to hold some cute little Easter treats! Directions with pictures are shown below.

Here is each bag up close (before I added the tags):

I decorated each one with a piece of cardstock cut with pinking shears to resemble grass, added some pink pom-pom trim across the bottom, and added some small punched out flowers or eggs. For the bunny, I used a Cricut cut from Stretch Your Imagination, p. 68, cut at 4-1/2 inches. It will also cut a basket, so you will need to stop your machine when it finishes cutting the bunny if you don't want the basket to cut as well.

I added either a flower or die cut bow to the bunnies, some googly eyes, pink punched out hearts for the noses, and small pieces of cotton wadded up and glued on to make the tails. On one of the bunnies, I used a pink pom-pom from the trim.

The tags are from EK Success and the Easter stamp is from Stampabilities (Hobby Lobby).

Here are the written directions in picture form:

Decorate as desired and fill with your favorite treats or gift item(s)!

Hot Air Balloon Card - "Just Be You" by Echo Park

Two weeks ago I shared a hot air balloon birthday card I made. However, sometimes when you're busy and don't have time to punch or stamp, a great paper pad and accessories is just the answer!

Today's card is made with the new Echo Park Just Be You 6 x 6 paper pad and pieces from the matching ephemera pack. I added a couple coordinating papers from my stash and I had a card!

The card base is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" cut from navy cardstock, top folding. The plaid layer is 4 x 5-1/2" and is die cut using the Bundle of Stitched Shapes from Simon Says Stamp. I chose the balloon paper from the paper pad, cut to 2-3/4 x 4-1/4". I layered this on top of a piece of mint macaron cardstock from Stampin' Up, cut at 3 x 4-1/2" that matched the patterned paper very well! The only ink I used on this card was applying some navy ink to the edges of the balloon paper piece before attaching it to the mint cardstock.

I used other pieces from the ephemera pack on the front of the card, a striped flag, the "today" sentiment piece, and of course the darling hot air balloon piece.

I had some pink polka dot paper from my stash that also matched the plaid paper, so I used a 1 inch strip along the bottom portion of the card as an accent and then cut another piece 3-1/2 x 4-3/4" for the inside of the card.

As you can see from the photo, I used one of the tags from the ephemera pack for the inside sentiment. I plan to use this for a birthday card, but it could be for other occasions as well, or just a pick-me-up card.

I aboslutely love this Just Be You paper collection from Echo Park and plan to get more coordinating pieces from the collection! The paper is very high quality, cardstock thickness, and double sided! You can't beat that!

NOTE: I ordered my Echo Park - Just Be You paper pad and ephemera pack from Amazon and chose a seller that offered free shipping, but I also found the collection on

Leprechaun Card for St. Patrick's Day

Leprechauns, shamrocks and rainbows, oh my! My 4-1/2 year old granddaughter has been talking about leprechauns in her pre-K class. She loves to craft with me and actually makes cards on her own, so I thought she would get a kick out of a leprechaun card from me for St. Patrick's Day!

This card is made very similarly to the card I shared last week with the hot air balloon. I again used a top folding 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch card base, with two layers on top, plus the ground layer. I stamped the clouds on the blue sky background layer (4 x 5-1/4 inches) using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up. I layered the blue sky layer on top of the black layer cut 1/8th inch larger than the blue layer, and attached both layers onto the green cardbase.

The bottom hillside layer is cut from kraft cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn and is 4 inches wide.

For the leprechaun, I used the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, cutting the paper doll at 3-1/2 inches, and cutting the coordinating pieces at 3-1/2 inches, p. 40. I hand cut the black band for the hat and punched out a 1/4 inch square in gold foil paper for the buckle.

I added some 1/8th inch circles from a hole punch for the gold buttons on his vest and cut a 1/4 inch square in half for accents on the shoes. I also added a very small hand tied ribbon bow for his bow tie.

The rainbow and black pot are from the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge on p. 39. I cut the rainbow  in the same colors as shown in the booklet at 1-1/2 inches and the black pot at 2-1/2 inches, adding the gold coin layer in gold glimmer paper. For the coins falling from the sky, I punched them from the same gold shimmer paper using a 1/4 inch hole punch.

The shamrocks are from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, p. 40, cut at 1 inch. There are also shamrocks in the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.

The Happy St. Patrick's Day greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes by Stampin' Up. In the Sprinkles of Life stamp set there is a stamp that reads "I'm so lucky to call you my friend." I really liked that, so on my computer I typed out "I'm so lucky to call you my granddaughter," and attached that greeting to the inside of my card.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Hot Air Balloon Birthday Card

I made this hot air balloon card using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up and a circle punch!

The card is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches, top folding. I used navy as my card base, adding a layer of coral cut 1/8 inch less than the card base, and adding the blue layer cut 1/8 inch less than that layer. I stamped the background clouds in navy using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up and punched out the white clouds using the Tree Builder Punch that coordinates with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set, also Stampin' Up.

To make the hot air balloon basket, I stamped the basket onto navy cardstock and cut it out by hand. I then attached four thin strips of navy cardstock to the back of the basket. I punched out a 2 inch circle in coral, adding the navy stripes with strips of navy cardstock. (To get the stripes, I punched out another circle in navy and handcut the strips to fit the coral circle, but you could also stamp stripes or a design.) I then attached the circle or "balloon" to the strips of cardstock I had already attached to the basket. I added the banner using a die cut and stamped the word "Celebrate" on it, and added some die cut stars to the ends of the banner. I added a small baker's twine bow in navy.

The "ground" piece is cut with a die by Lawn Fawn called Stitched Hillside Borders. After attaching this little curved "ground" piece, I stamped some small flowers up the hill using the flowers from the same Sprinkles of Life stamp set. The greeting "Make today a good one" is from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit from August 2014 called Seriously Amazing. The "Celebrate" greeting is from the Any Occasion stamp set by Stampin' Up (Sale-A-Bration). The banner and stars are die cuts from the Sissix die set by Rachael Bright.

The colors used in this card are all from Stampin' Up:
Night of Navy
Calypso Coral
Soft Sky
Crumb Cake

Make today a good one! Up, up and away!

Spring Floral Wreath Card

I saw this wreath technique done by Yana Smakula from Simon Says Stamp and had to try it myself! Just lay your stamps out in the pattern you want on a separate piece of paper the same size as your card, and then freehand stamp them individually onto your cardstock, building as you go. Stamp your greeting in the middle of the card first and then build your floral wreath around it. Mine is a fairly simple design and was not difficult at all. Actually the hardest part of the process is deciding what stamps you want to use and the colors of your flowers!

If you would like to see how this is done, here is the link to the video I watched to learn this technique: Yippee for Yana: Quick Stamp Wreath Cards

My card is a standard 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch card in white, top folding. Everything is one layer! The colors I chose are Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight, and Wisteria Wonder, all from Stampin' Up. The stamp sets I used are "In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers" by Winnie & Walter, and purchased from Catherine Pooler Stamps; a Paper Pumpkin stamp set called "Celebrate Everything," and a Paper Pumpkin stamp set called "Hello Sunshine."

Happy stamping!
